About the Author

Me at age two

If you clicked the link to this page then you are probably curious to learn a little bit about who I am.  My name is Maeve and I have loved movies since before I can remember.  I also love all things that have to do with God, Religion, and the Spirit. In college I took comparative religion classes, philosophy classes, and attended services at Buddhist and Hindu Temples as well as various Protestant & Catholic Churches, and even Quaker Meetings.

I became a Bahá’í on September 27, 2005 and it has changed my life.  It led me to Tanzania where I taught Geography at a Bahá’í run school.  I just completed my Masters in Library and Information Science and work for the National Archives and Records Adminstration. I hope some day to serve as a Librarian or Archivist at the World Centre in Haifa, Israel.

These two passions, film and faith, led me to start this blog, but I have other passions including traveling, both domestically and internationally,  and of course my family.  I have a sister and a brother and they can both make me smile just by being who they are.  I have two wonderful parents who support me, and a cadre of friends across the globe.

I hope you have enjoyed this little window into my world and look forward to glimpses of yours.

  1. I ran into your website on accident but I am so glad I did! Thank you for making it! I have been waiting to meet a person who leaves recommendations for foreign film movies and I love all your recommendations and quotations! Youve made me a happy person!

  2. I think you and I would get along quite nicely! : ) Thanks for stopping by my blog; I’ll be stopping by yours more often now!

  3. Wow, that is a fabulous blog you have set up here. Thanks for linking me from imdb. I have thought of joining the Baha’i faith myself a few times. My parents brought me up to learn and respect all forms of faith, so it’s great to see someone else who feels the same. I’m currently in film school to become a director. Keep up the blogging!

  4. As a classic movie lover and tech geek, I find this a interesting perspective to look at movies from. I found your site on Blogsurfer.com, from a link that showed up from someone visiting my site.. So we all get around the world in our own way..

I have been doing a blog for the last 2-3 years. I call it
“The Lawson Report” What I do is pick a topic or issue and try to give my own ideas on the topic of the day.. While I don’t post as often as I’d like to, I try to make the post I do interesting and worth the read. (Life Keeps Getting in the Way) as a Blogger you understand this..
My topics are usually tech or media related. One of my primary interest is the negative effect that the digital revolution is having on consumers and the way they can use the media that they buy, be it new material or classic movies form days gone by.
If you would like to stop by my blog and poke around in the archives you should find some interesting reading.
If you like what you find feel free to post a link to my blog on your site.

  5. I love your blog. I love films too and I will enjoy reading what you have to say about some of my favourite films and others I have yet to see 🙂

  6. Definitely a nice website…keep up the good work. I spend almost too much of my film time on films from India (hence the FilmiGori’s blog 🙂 and occasionally need to drag myself into a few other genres. I appreciate the recommendations!
